The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.
Dr. Peyman Khadivi was born and raised in Tehran,Iran and ventured to the United States in 1984. He went to school at the University of Washington and graduated in 1989 with a degree in Microbiology and Immunology. Immediately following Dr. Khadivi entered the University of Iowa Dental School and graduated in 1993.
Post graduation, Pittsfield Medical Center had the pleasure of having Dr. Khadivi for a one year General Practice Residency until 1994, where he then moved to Massachusetts and worked in the western part of the state for the next 6 years. Dr. Khadivi then bought Stetson Dental Care in the year 2000 and has since kept the patients from the previous owner happy while acquiring many new patients and expanding the practice. He now sees generations of families and hopes to continue the family feel Stetson Dental brings to people for years to come.
Dr. Khadivi is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He enjoys learning and implementing the newest technologies to provide the highest level of care to all patients, and spending time with his wife and daughter at home. Dr. Khadivi is known by patients for his gentle touch, quality work, and for treating patients of all backgrounds how he would treat his own family.
Dr. Xu got his BDS from Henan Medical University, China, in 2000. Upon his graduation, he went to Hiroshima University, Japan, for his first periodontal training combined with a PhD majored as tissue engineering in periodontal application. After he came to the United States, he continued his research focusing on dental originated stem cells at Tufts University until he joined Boston University Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry and received his second dental degree (DMD) and periodontal certificate from 2010 to 2015. Dr. Xu conducted and continued conducting researches in tissue engineering applied dental field besides his teaching appointment and leading research group for dental implant during and after he finished his dental training at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Currently he is full time practicing periodontics in multiple offices covering east Mass. He is still actively working with bioengineers and tech groups trying to develop new material/methods to facilitate implant placement in bone-deficient areas in clinic.
Outside of work he enjoys swimming, kayaking, music, and traveling. Community involvement is one of his top priorities and he greatly enjoys public service and giving back to the community.
I received my Bachelor of English Literature in 2003. I worked as a kindergarten teacher for 3 years. My dream was always to be working as a health care professional so off to hygiene school I went and graduated in 2012. I have been working for Stetson Dental Care for 5 years. I love interacting with other people and making them smile. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and playing tennis with my daughter.
Michaela has been working as a full-time dental hygienist since 2013 and joined the Stetson Dental team in 2016. She graduated from Mount Ida College with a Bachelors in Dental Hygiene Science concentrated in Forensic Science. She then continued on to graduate with her Master’s in Public Health in 2016 from the University of Bridgeport. Michaela’s spare time is spent with her husband, 5 kids, 2 dogs, and extended family. We spend our weekends going to hockey, soccer, baseball, and Irish step events. Michaela loves being a dental hygienist because she enjoys getting to know generations of families while improving their overall health and confidence in their smiles. It’s important for her patients to know that she learns just as much from them, as they do from her, and she wouldn’t want it any other way!
Alex went to Mount Ida College for dental hygiene and graduated in 2017. She has been a part of the Stetson Dental Family since 2019. Alex enjoys getting to know her patients and making them feel at home during every visit. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her family and spending time with her pets. She is a team player who is always ready to help out when needed! Patients love her “chill” personality and her gentle touch during cleanings. Alex believes everyone should love their smile!
Shawna became a dental hygienist in 2023 and graduated from Cape Cod Community College. She loves getting to know her patients and looks forward to building long term relationships. Her goal is to provide quality care and make sure every patient feels comfortable and relaxed while in her chair. In her free time, she enjoys spending her days with her very active 2 year old son, family, and friends. She is excited to be joining the Stetson Dental family!
Barbara has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 50 years; she graduated from the Dental Program at Beth Israel Hospital in 1972. Barbara started out at the Center for Cosmetic Dentistry owned by Dr. Flashner on Broad Street in Weymouth and stayed with the practice until the end of his well-established career when Dr. Khadivi bought it in the year 2000. For this reason, Barbara is a familiar face to many, and a staple to generations of families when they walk through the front door of Stetson Dental Care. She has experience in orthodontic, E4D (same-day crowns), temporary crowns/bridges, and lab work. Barbara’s interests are swimming, bike riding, walking, and spending time with family. Barbara is the queen of all things dental assisting and patients love her familiar face and her ability to ease them when they’re nervous.
Lisa has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 15 years. She loves assisting and says “The best part about being a dental assistant is it gives me the opportunity to help people on a very personal level… Aiding them to achieve their goals.” Patients love that Lisa has the ability to talk to anyone about anything to distract them if they are nervous. Lisa is a team player and jumps in wherever needed, whenever needed; for this reason, you’ll see her all around the office! She assists the specialists, helps the front desk, and can also be found at Dr. Khadivi’s side. When she is not working at Stetson Dental she enjoys the outdoors, rock sculpting, and family time.

Sharon has been managing dental offices for over 20 years. Throughout that time she has mastered all the skills needed to keep an office running efficiently, and is now Stetson Dental’s office manager. She loves to help the patients understand how their insurance works with their treatment plans to make their dental goals a success. Sharon has three beautiful, intelligent children that fill her life with happiness. She brightens up the office with her fun cowgirl boots and nail designs that have become a staple for patients to see in our front office. When she is not working at Stetson Dental she enjoys dancing, singing and the great outdoors.
Marimar is originally from Puerto Rico and moved to Weymouth, MA in 2021 and started at Stetson Dental Care as a patient coordinator in 2021. She is oftentimes the first smiling face patients see when they walk through the door. Marimar is calm mannered, easy going, bilingual, and a huge asset to the Stetson Dental family. Outside of the dental office Marimar loves being a mom, spending time with her family, dog and friends; as well as playing tennis and hiking. Marimar is also taking classes to become a dental hygienist, and we are excited to have her as part of our team for years to come.
Emily is a schedule coordinator at Stetson Dental Care. She graduated Weymouth High school in 2015 with her cosmetology license. After working with hair for 6 years, she decided it was time for a change. In 2022 Emily joined our team and has been greeting patients with an energetic smile ever since! Emily always runs cold, so even on the most humid day you’ll find Emily at the front desk with her fun fuzzy blanket across her lap; these have become a big topic of conversation with patients as she has multiple ones with fun comics and designs. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and playing video games. Emily likes to treat everyone like a member of her family and hopes to grow her skills within the dental office to be able to help patients get the care they need when they need it.
Jillian graduated with a BFA in 3-D Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1999. Since then she has amassed over 20 years experience working as a Dental Technician, training from the ground up, and has experience in both Orthodontic, and Crown and Bridge work, and has further advanced by also learning how to design Surgical implant guides for 3-D printing. Her role at Stetson Dental Care is to assist the staff in digitally archiving and updating records, as well as small repairs, technical troubleshooting, and miscellaneous tasks. When not working at Stetson Dental Care, Jillian enjoys spending her time with her family, gardening, home repair projects, and as a Scout volunteer with Scouts BSA.
